Peanut Butter to arrive in Haiti this FridayDOTHAN, Alabama - In a remarkable response to the devastation of Haiti from the recent earthquake, the U.S. peanut industry has come together to show their concern and to offer their support in the way they can be most useful - by sending truckloads of peanut butter to the people of Haiti. The first shipment (approximately 75,000 lbs) of peanut butter will arrive this Friday, January 22, 2010, in Haiti and distributed through Operation Blessing.

Alabama Peanut Producers Donating PB to Haiti
The Alabama Peanut Producers Association is joining with several organizations in the peanut industry to ship a container (or more) of peanut butter to Haiti. An offer to spearhead the effort came today from Early County 2055 (a 501c3 non-profit) in Blakely, Georgia. They also donated $5000 and Birdsong Peanuts has now matched that donation.

Alabama Peanut Growers Donate Peanut Butter to Food Banks
The Alabama Peanut Producers Association (APPA) made a special delivery today and donated approximately 25,000 - 12 oz. jars of peanut butter to the Montgomery Area Food Bank, for distribution to other food banks throughout the state.
The contribution will help needy families enduring economic hardships while increasing the awareness of the health benefits of peanuts and peanut butter.

Alabama Peanuts: The talk of Talladega
The Alabama Peanut Producers Association served as a major media sponsor for the NASCAR Sprint Cup series first stop of the year at Talladega Superspeedway on April 26, 2009 in Talladega, Alabama. A variety of commercials highlighting Alabama peanuts ran on radio the week prior to and on the actual race day.
The race was attended by more than 150,000 race. Alabama peanuts were given out by the radio station during the week. Special guests who gave live radio interviews on race day were also treated to plenty of Alabama peanuts.

Peanut Farmers Donate Peanut Butter to Community Feeding Program
WASHINGTON, D.C., (March 12, 2009) - Peanut farmers from Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Texas and Oklahoma donated more than 8,000 jars of peanut butter to Martha\'s Table in Washington, D.C. Martha\'s Table\'s mission is to help at-risk children, youth, families and individuals in the Washington, D.C. community improve their lives by providing educational programs, food, clothing, and enrichment opportunities.

But with the recent unveiling of a new peanut print entitled, “A Journey Through Time,” a thousand words will only begin to describe the history and modern times depicted in this colorful print commissioned by the Southern Peanut Farmers Federation (SPFF) and painted by artist Jack Deloney.
