Alabama Peanut Growers Donate Peanut Butter to Food BanksThe Alabama Peanut Producers Association (APPA) made a special delivery today and donated approximately 25,000 - 12 oz. jars of peanut butter to the Montgomery Area Food Bank, for distribution to other food banks throughout the state.
The contribution will help needy families enduring economic hardships while increasing the awareness of the health benefits of peanuts and peanut butter.

Southern Peanut Growers Conference Set
Mark you calendars now! The 10th annual Southern Peanut Growers Conference (SPGC) will be held July 13-15, 2008 at Edgewater Beach Resort in Panama City Beach, Florida. Keep those dates and check back as we draw closer to the date we will bring more information. The conference is sponsored by the Southern Peanut Farmers Federation which is comprised of the Alabama Peanut Producers Association, Florida Peanut Producers Association, Georgia Peanut Commission, and the Mississippi Peanut Growers Association.

Alabama Peanuts: The talk of Talladega
The Alabama Peanut Producers Association served as a major media sponsor for the NASCAR Sprint Cup series first stop of the year at Talladega Superspeedway on April 26, 2009 in Talladega, Alabama. A variety of commercials highlighting Alabama peanuts ran on radio the week prior to and on the actual race day.
The race was attended by more than 150,000 race. Alabama peanuts were given out by the radio station during the week. Special guests who gave live radio interviews on race day were also treated to plenty of Alabama peanuts.

Peanut Farmers Donate Peanut Butter to Community Feeding Program
WASHINGTON, D.C., (March 12, 2009) - Peanut farmers from Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Texas and Oklahoma donated more than 8,000 jars of peanut butter to Martha\'s Table in Washington, D.C. Martha\'s Table\'s mission is to help at-risk children, youth, families and individuals in the Washington, D.C. community improve their lives by providing educational programs, food, clothing, and enrichment opportunities.

1/19/2009, Alexandria, VA – The American Peanut Council (APC) continues to work with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to investigate which products may be affected by a manufacturer’s recall, and advises consumers that at this time, there is no indication that any national name brand jars of peanut butter sold in retail stores are linked to the recall by Georgia-based Peanut Corporation of America (PCA).
