Alabama Welcome Center Unveils Peanut Statue
As visitors travel or stop by the Alabama Welcome Center located on Hwy 231 south of Dothan, they will see that peanuts are an important part of this area.
Thanks to the design work of Wilton Blackmon of Replica Plastics, the support of the Alabama Peanut Producers Association and Dothan Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, a peanut statue was placed in front of the center and recently unveiled.
The statue will serve as a reminder to travelers of one of the major economic segments to the Wiregrass area.
