Alabama Peanut Producers Donating PB to Haiti
The Alabama Peanut Producers Association is joining with several organizations in the peanut industry to ship a container (or more) of peanut butter to Haiti. An offer to spearhead the effort came today from Early County 2055 (a 501c3 non-profit) in Blakely, Georgia. They also donated $5000 and Birdsong Peanuts has now matched that donation. “The industry is currently working with Tara Foods to purchase the peanut butter and have it loaded on a container early next week,” said Randy Griggs executive director of the Alabama Peanut Producers Association. “We are also working with our legislators in Washington to find the best distribution channel.” Griggs said in addition to this being a united peanut industry donation effort, monetary donations of any amount from the public are also being accepted. Contact the Alabama Peanut Producers Association in Dothan, Ala. at 334-792-6482 (twilson@alpeanuts.com) or Lisa Collins at EC2055 (lcollins@earlycounty2055.com) right away to make your donation and send your tax deductible donation to: PNB for Haiti, c/o APPA, P.O.
