"This week in your town" talks peanuts

For those not familiar with the peanut producing areas, there seems to be a fascination about the nut, which isn’t a nut at all, that grows underground.
Recently, Dothan, Alabama was chosen as this year’s winner of “This Week In Your Town” television show hosted by the Louisiana Farm Bureau TWILA (This week in Louisiana Agriculture) media team. Although there were many written entries and invitations for the film crew to select the winner from, it seems the peanut area in the southeast really sparked their interest. And although in agriculture themselves, it was apparent the crew were not familiar with the peanut growing and harvesting process.
While in the Dothan, the TWILA team filmed various peanut-related sites, including the “Peanuts Around Town” statues, numerous agriculture murals, in addition to visiting a local shelling facility, peanut farmers, and research specialists.
The thirty-minute segment was aired in late October with viewers not only from the United States but various international viewers as well.
