The Alabama Farmers Federation hosted its annual "Taste of Alabama" legislative reception Wednesday, February 15, giving state legislators, constitutional officers and justices a sampling of what the state's farmers have to offer. As part of event Alabama Peanut Producers Association staff members, along with 2012 Little Miss and Miss National Peanut Festival queens, gave legislators a chance to taste “fresh off the grill” peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Guests moved about the room, sampling a variety of Alabama-grown products including beef, pork, chicken, catfish, fruits, vegetables, grits, honey, peanut butter and wild game. Some were surprised by the unique grilled pb&j sandwiches and in fact, many guests asked for seconds!Pictured is Alabama state representative Paul Lee enjoying a grilled pb&j served by the National Peanut Festival queens.
