Peanut Surprise Pie
1 pie crust, baked 1 stick butter 1 cup sugar 1, 8-ounce package of chopped dates 2 1/2 cups of Rice Krispies 1 cup chopped peanuts 1 teaspoon peanut butter flavoring 1, 8-ounce package of cream cheese 1 cup powdered sugar 1/4 cup peanut butter Cool Whip to garnish In boiler, melt butter and sugar. Add dates. Let come to a bubbly boil and cook four minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Add peanut butter flavoring, Rice Krispies and peanuts. Mix cream cheese, powdered sugar and peanut butter. Mix well. In pie crust, put cream cheese, powdered sugar and peanut butter mixture. Pour dates mixture over and pack down. Garnish with Cool Whip. Recipe Archives... National Peanut Festival Recipe Contest In conjunction with the National Peanut Festival, the Alabama Peanut Producers Association sponsors the NPF Recipe contest. There are four areas of competition: Cakes, Candies, Cookies and Pies. Last year's event recorded more than 260 entries. Prizes are awarded in each division, to an overall student winner and to an overall grand prize winner. Entrants must submit the food item along with the recipe on the morning of the judging.
