American Peanut Council
The American Peanut Council serves as a forum of all industry segments. Members of the organization fall into one of four segments: Growers, Shellers, Manufacturers and Allied. Activities of the APC are limited to those areas of mutual agreement and seen as a benefit to the industry as a whole.
The major areas of activities revolve around committees dealing with Science and Technology, Export Development, and Domestic Marketing. The APC Board of Directors and committee makeup is comprised of representative of all segments. The Export Committee makeup is only members of the sheller and grower segments. These are the two segments that fund the export programs. Development funds received from the USDA's Foreign Agriculture Service are administered through this committee.
